The Ultimate Goal Of Soul

There’s no reason why we cannot

hop and up like those free falcons

or velvet clouds to kiss a sunspot

and be for others bright beacons.

The supreme goal of creation is for us, Soul, to go from the immature state of human consciousness, which causes us all kinds of troubles, to the highest awareness of God, which is God-realization. Childhood may be blissful in most cases but the fun-filled life of the youth is a thrill of a lifetime. Yet, the freedom attendant to the full life of adults is always as tantalizing to children and the youth as the urge to fly free in the air like birds is to man. Yet, we soon grow old and in some cases, infirm and die only to be reborn to begin all over again. Until we achieve the ultimate price, the exultant state of a Spiritual Traveller, our greatest happiness and freedom will only taste like a bitter concoction when compared to the honey of the peak of realizations.

As butterflies, we go from tiny eggs to caterpillar to pupa and to a winging specimen of beauty and freedom. Even after we might have learned to fly, still we must graduate from the heaviness of the green earth, past the pink colour of emotional instability, travel beyond the orange light of memories and past-life burdens, up into the blue world of mental confusion, then persevere until we pass the purple plane of subconscious existence and finally into the blissful yellow world or pure Soul. And the journey does not end there. With the guidance of the Dream Master, Soul continues to transform from lower colours until it becomes as pure as the white music of God. So until your light shines as the whitest lightning to light-up the dark for others to see, wing on free Soul.

Until you stand on top of the ziggurat-rooftop of God's temple, fly higher than the strong hands of gravity could reach or kiss the peak of the himalayan forbidding heights, to dine with the blue-eyed eagle, never look back at mortal earth. The risk of falling back to mortal earth is ever-present. But the persevering Soul will always triumph.

The Mystery of Death

Come to see how I look in death?

a rigid mask, ashy, shrunk or toad-like?Add Image

Dry those liquid clouds from cat’s eyes—

I’m over here—in a blinding white shroud.

Recently, i was passing by a cemetary and looking at all the beautiful flowers and and expensive marbled headstones adorning the graveyard, i was motivated to write the following piece. This is not by any means a criticism of people who honour their dead loved ones in the graveyard. If anything, this should encourage all to look beyond white bones and grinning skulls of the dead and see immaculate Soul that leaves the body upon death. The grave has no power to hold Soul prisoner. As a spark of light and sound, Soul conquers the dark walls of death like lightning pierces a dark cloud.

Death will forever remain a mystery, that is until one makes the needed efforts to learn about the sweet mystery of death and the spiritual art of dying daily. Yes, when St Paul said "I die daily" he meant every word and meaning of that provocative phrase. Yet, how many church fathers as well as those who lay loud and sometimes, pompous claims to having God's audience with ease could explain to their ardent followers what the reverent apostle meant? Not many, i suppose. Or maybe those who know are reluctant to teach others for fear of losing business. This is because once one understands, through practical experience, the bliss that lies behind the dark curtain of death, fear loses its grim grips and the first waves of spiritual freedom begins to shower the lucky seeker of truth. Yet, i must point out here that suicide is outside the curriculum of learning about death and the art of dying. Rather suicide is simply dropping out of the endless school of life, which every Soul in form must pass through to graduate into a spiritual traveller. There is never running away from whatever is troubling us here. We must face our troubles and conquer them. Period!

When we dream, we usually leave the physical body behind to roam the vast inner worlds of God and to have experiences of all kinds. The people we meet in our nightly dreams are as real as the people we interact with daily here on earth. We are Soul, vested in a physical body in order to live here on earth. The physical body is merely a necessary cumbersome jacket needed to exist here, much like the heavy clothing needed to survive the temperate regions of the world. The body dies and we will die someday. Undue attachment to the body, whether ours or others, is a waste of precious spiritual energy. The wisdom is to know when the time has come for us to go or to let our loved ones go and release them with love. What they need most during this critical moment of transition to higher heavens is not our tears but love and joy, for Soul is being transported into the heavens of God. Who knows, our departed loved ones may return to another earthly life through the gift of reincarnation. So Let go and let God, is a sound wisdom nugget so appropriate for this hallowed moment of Soul's translation from one plane of existence to another.

If you are in doubt, make a postulate tonight before going to sleep to meet a departed loved one or friend in the dream state. It will do to fill your heart with love as you make this request of divinity. If you are used to contemplation or meditation, you may want to sing a holy word like Om, Aum, Bani or HU, before going to sleep. Filling our heart with love is so important because in the inner worlds, love is the only language that Soul understands and responds to. It pays to write down whatever dream you may have upon waking up. This will help you remember your travels in the inner worlds while your body slept. Dreams also harbor many solutions to our daily problems, which are usually farfetched to psychologists, psychiatrists and other Social Scientists. This is because the answer is coming directly from your own universe where God speaks to the Soul who has learned to ask and listen.

My father died more than twenty years ago, but because of the love bodn that existed between us when he was alive, we kept meeting for several years afterwards. Sometimes he would surprise me by asking me questions concerning the daily problems i was passing through as at the time of those meetings. Those experiences assured me that even though my father had died, he is still very much alive as Soul. What a pleasant and comfrting piece of wisdom to have. Countless many other experiences like that helped me live my life to the full despite what boulders and high winds life may throw at me.

When next you stand near the dead body of a departed loved one, do not fix your watery eyes on a lifeless body. Just look on the side with the inner eyes of Soul, you may see her standing tall and free in a white light of God. Try and see, for it is real.

Tough Times Toughen Soul

Singing Streams widen the patient River

but jutting rocks heave a ramming head butt:

weave around nipping rocks brave weaver—

stretch your dreams to dwarf arrogant stars.

Every experience in life, be it sweet or sour, tough or easy, is meant to toughen and strengthen Soul, as we march towards spiritual mastership, blindly or knowingly. To understand much of what goes on in life, we need to look beyond the issue of one single lifetime for every man and woman. We have been around for millions of lifetimes. We are here trying to learn to give and receive love. We are here to learn Divine Love of God, period. In the course of this tough but exciting school of life, we do things to others and have things done to us in return. At the eend of the day of Soul, which is the end of each given lifetime, every material possession shall be left behind. Only the lessons that we learn shall go with us into a new life. These lessons are recorded as memories in the Causal or Memory bank. When we suffer in the hands of another, despite how much we try to claim our innocence, there is always that small voice within our conscience that tells that, we are simply facing ourselves. No one is unjustly punished, no matter how unjust we might appear to have been treated by others.

Anyway, instead of crying for the burdens of life to be taken from our shoulders, we should rather ask, what lessons am i to learn from the tribulation that afflicts me? Be it cancer, deaths in a family, collapse of business, all losses of all kind, etc, the end goal is to toughen us like the bark of an ancient tree. This is because for us to become spiritual masters in the end, to take our hallowed place among the hierarchy of the Spiritual Travellers, we must become rugged and strong, ready to meet every challenge life may throw at us, as we travel from world to world, planet to planet and universe to universe, helping other Souls to undertake the timeless journey up the endless mountain of God.

We are all familiar with the process of heating up gold nuggets to harness gold and turn it into glowing jewellery as well as the tough process of polishing diamonds for them to shine and blind women who will kill for them. Ha! These are all child's play when compared to the tests, tribulations, trials and temptations that each Soul must pass through to become purified and eligible to serve as a co-worker with God. As Soul jumps from being a man in one lifetime to experiencing life as a woman in another, from facing itself in pain and wellbeing, joy and sorrows, riches and poverty, famous and obscure, killing and getting killed, it becomes stronger, wiser and more loving towards others. So every experience we go through is as necessary and important as the dew, rain sun, warmth and air needed to germinate, nurture and grow crops for man's sustenance.

Tough times toughen Soul. Do not wish them away or pray feverishly for hard times to disappear. The good they do for Soul could not be compensated by endless life of ease and pleasure. If anything, wanton life of ease weakens our firm, spiritual muscles and cripple Soul's wings, unless balanced by periods of toil and sweat. Then man becomes earthbound and considers himself all-human. Truth is, you are a spiritual being, an eagle whose home is among the stars. Your destiny is far beyond the clouds, way above the pull of grim gravity. Want to come into your hih spiritual heritage someday? Then learn to fall in love with tough times too. They are blessings. Not curses!

The Law of Balance

In the honest Mirror’s eyes see what you wish—

a swift falcon? An earth bound rock?

At best the rock rolls down hill over ants,

the Sky’s blue lips always court the harrier hawk.

The Spiritual Law of Balance states that all is completely in balance in God's universal body. Everything is as it should be. Now this may raise eyebrows and cause an outrage when one takes just a cursory look at all that is happening in the world today. But the truth still remains that the world is just the way human beings have made it to be. None can change another's world significantly without the receiver wanting to be changed, and that means, doing something concrete to keep your world changed for the better. All another could do for you is lend a helping hand somehow. So the responsibility falls squarely on each person to make their lives the way they would want.

Truly, there is nothing wrong with the world! This is indeed a bold claim, but true. Are you unhappy and sad? Do you want to be otherwise? Then choose to be happy and cheerful. The trouble is we look too much to others to make us happy when there is an ocean of love and wellbeing deep in each person's heart untapped. So if you want to be happy, the spiritual rule states that you must be willing to go out of your way to make another happy. For the only way to get love is to constantly give love to all life. To receive, we must first learn to give without expecting any returns.

It's said that the world is always in a state of flux. This is all too true because Spirit always seeks balance. Water is said to seek it's level. This is pure balance. The planets hang and rotate around and along clearly marked orbits and axis. This is ultimate balance. The rain, snow, wind, sunshine and even earthquakes, all come in due season. All obey this invisible but immutable Law of Balance. All you need to do is look up and about and mostly within to observe this cardinal law that steadily moves life according to divine plans.

So why man should expect to be exempt from this supreme rule that every other life form bows down to is beyond understanding. Why do we have endless wars? Hunger? Economic crises? Diseases? Deaths of innocent children? Abject poverty and more? Do you think nature is constantly sending its grim waves of change to bring man back to needed balance from his wanton life of greed, anger, vanity, lust, envy, jealousy, etc? You be the judge. Look at poor Africa and its hapless people. You will be brought down to tears. But wait a second before wasting your misplaced tears of pity and take a closer look at the immense wealth buried in the black soil of Africa, then ask, what is really going on here? Life is just. We need brighter lenses to see beyond the walls of emotion. Yes, we need to look from the top. But first you must learn to rise above the magnet of gravity with spiritual wings.

So how could one begin to learn the basic spiritual laws like Balance so as to come into a greater life of love, happiness and harmony? Start by seeking out a spiritual teacher who knows these laws and their successful application for optimum spiritual benefits. If you succeed in finding the true Master here on earth and follow him, he will in time bring you up to the spiritual mountain and place you in a stragetic position where you can observe life's supreme balance without being affected negatively or positively by it. You will then be in perfect spiritual balance. But this is a whole new and different story.

Yield, Man Yield!

“God, my weight is drowning me,” cried Greed.

“I’m so inflated I could explode,”

sobbed Vanity. “I’m in hell,” yelled Anger.

“I’m a beast, God save me,” pleaded Lust.

Man must yield to live! Craving martyrdom for whatever the cause is a red mark of the ego inflated to the skies. I don't usually write about politics and social issues, but what the heck! I am a member of the human community, too, and as such entitled to my unique opinion. Besides i watch tv too and see the perennial blood-flow from the Middle East begin to gush all over again. There is a Nigerian saying that goes like this; "A child that prevents his mother from sleep shall not sleep himself." Another way of saying the same thing is, to keep a child from wandering away at will, you must become his prisoner.

I'm talking about the powerful Israelis and the hardy Palestinians and their little wars, which they know just the right time to start one becuase the whole world will be roused to frantic pity, tears, protests, unbridled aids and containers of ready cash for assistance. But the irony is that all this massive flow of empathy, sympathy, anger and condemnation never manages to bring a single leaf of peace to that red region of the world. So what do i think?

In my own neutral opinion, the only people to bring a lasting peace between the Jews and the Arabs are the Jews and the Arabs themselves. They are fighting and dying for a piece of land, which none of them brought to earth when they were born. So they fight and die to come back to fight and die again. The whole world gets outraged by the callous killing of women and children when the people themselves are so desensitized to these gory sights that one may wonder, so why should anyone else care? Just how could you force somebody to care when they just don't want to care? Both of them are losers in the long haul. Nobody could bring them true peace. In fact, even God couldn't do it.

As long as there are rich nations ready to stand by and support Israel in whatever they do to the poor Palestinians; as long as there are equally powerful countries willing to supply the Arabs with whatever weapons they need to fight, the bloodshed will go on ad infinitum. These wars seem to keep them alive. When will the world wake up to learn this? So, i'll say to the warring factions; Do you want peace? Do you sincerely desire real peace? Really? Then yield your big egos and tenacious attachments to what none of you could take with you when you die. Israel, yield your arrogance of power. Palestine, give up your senseless stubbornness. Both of you, yield your stolid ignorance. Yield now to survive. There is enough space on earth for every tree to grow as tall or short as they like. Yield, man yield!

Golden Age

A new spiritual golden age dawns

upon the world: showers of golden lights

and deep sounds rain like snowflakes. Unbound

are Souls who climb God's glistening stage.

I intend to be sharing some of my many poems on this site. Above is one of many quatrains to be published here for all to read and enjoy. Despite all the negativity swirling around the world, there is actually a new golden age dawning on the world right now. This is a new opportunity for spiritual freedom and awareness for those who are so inclined to seek the higher ideals of life. It is very clear now that total reliance and trust on the things of matter to bring and guarantee eternal life of bliss is a grand illusion. Just look at the crash of credit institutions, heavy indebtedness of ordinary individuals and the impotency of politicians to know what to do to get things right. There is more to life and living than extreme material wellbeing.

When this life is over, the only wealth we carry along with us to the inner worlds are those intangible goods like happiness, freedom from fear, divine love and more. These qualities are only cultivated through a life immersed in total spiritual pursuits, at the expense of extreme sensual indulgences. For instance, dreams are deep sources of spiritual information but how well do you observe, study and apply the nuggets of wisdom found in your nightly and daydreams? If you learn to look for the Dream Master each night that you sleep, you could easily open yourself up to the richest vault of ideas and wisdom available to you and totally under your own control. The answers to the most difficult problems of your life could be found in the deep recesses of your own heart. Look within you for once and awaken to a new life of greater happiness and love.

When the outer world fails, your inner life will never fail you for that is where God or Spirit literally speaks to whoever has learned to listen to the inner sound and see the inner light of divinity. To see the light and hear the sound is to converse with God on daily basis. There is a new spiritual golden age dawning on the world right now. The Spiritual Travellers are working in the open once again to help those who are tired of the spiritual darkness that has engulfed the world for centuries, link up to divine Spirit for spiritual liberation here and now. It is a fact that orthodox religions have failed to offer man the proverbial Water of Life that Jesus promised. Despair nomore, look to the Godman and drink to your fill. True spiritual freedom can be your here and now.
